David Clark

Project Advisor

David is a freelance political consultant and writer with extensive experience of government, the media and public affairs. He provides strategic political advice, analysis and writing services for a wide range of clients.

From 1994 to 2001 he worked for the late Robin Cook MP, serving as his Special Adviser on Europe at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office between 1997 and 2001.

Since leaving government, he has written op-eds on foreign policy, European affairs and British politics for a wide range of publications, including the Guardian, the Independent and the Mail on Sunday. He is also a frequent guest on current affairs programmes on both television and radio. In 2003 he co-presented the BBC3 documentary, Iraq: One Year On.

David is Chairman of the Russia Foundation and a Senior Research Fellow at the Federal Trust. He is a regular guest speaker at international conferences and has given oral and written evidence as an expert witness before the House of Commons Select Committee on Foreign Affairs.
