After a decade of providing legal counsel and political support to individuals across
the world who have been sentenced to the death penalty, in recent years the London-based
charity Reprieve also began to represent other people who have been imprisoned by
governments without regard for accepted international human rights laws, notably
those held in Guantanamo Bay. Champollion coached Reprieve, led by Clive Stafford
Smith, in how to develop a corporate narrative to raise the profile of the organisation
and its activities. At the height of the international outcry against renditions
and ghost prisons, we also helped to make the moral and legal arguments against the
state abuse of human rights, including through media training key spokespeople as
well as advising on media strategy and managing press relations.
“Champollion helped us to really understand our brand and the corporate story we
need to be telling to the media. They were very engaged with our Board and our staff,
stimulating, rigorous and committed.”
