Champollion was privileged to advise Trevor Phillips, when he was the Chair of the Commission for Racial Equality, about issues of intense public interest. Steeped in current race relations debates, our prime task was to assist with the roll out of agenda-setting arguments about why and how public policy should avert Britain's multi-cultural communities from "sleepwalking to segregation", and instead actively promote integration that allows different ethnic groups to retain their distinct cultures while also connecting effectively with each other. In addition, we advised the CRE about its interventions in the media concerning the future of Britishness, combating the surge of the BNP in local elections, and the formation of new public institutions necessary to combat racism these days, among others.

“We worked with Champollion at all levels of the CRE – strategic counsel to me and the senior management team, practical support for our media relations, and document-drafting with our policy wonks. They always go the extra mile to make better best.”

Trevor Phillips, Chair 2003-2007, Commission for Racial Equality
